Our 5-Phase Weight Loss Program
If you’re having trouble losing weight, our medical weight loss team will look to your hormones to find out why. Then, we’ll work with you to fix it.
Every day, the amount of stress we’re under, the amount of sleep we get, the food we choose in our diet, and the activities we participate in all have an impact on our hormones. Hormones are the chemical messengers of our bodies, and are responsible for most of your body’s physiological and behavioral activities including digestion, metabolism, respiration, sleep, excretion, lactation, sensory perception, stress, growth and development, movement, and mood. When your hormones are off balance, each one of those processes can be impacted. Hormone regulation can actually play a large role in your weight loss journey, not to mention your overall health. Our medical team offers a medically supervised five phase system that is completely customized for your body’s needs.
How It Works
Excess belly fat can often indicate hormonal imbalances including high estrogen or low testosterone levels, low amounts of DHEA (a hormone produced by the adrenal glands), high insulin, and high cortisol. Our medical weight loss team begins by using comprehensive lab testing to identify why you’re not losing weight; then, they work with you to balance your hormones and your habits to help you achieve both your weight loss goals and a healthier life for years to come. The following is a brief overview of each component of our five-phase weight loss program.
Phase I: Discover
The first step in your weight loss program is using a complete lab testing panel to identify the reason or reasons you’ve been struggling to lose weight. Lab testing measures your stress hormones, appetite control hormones, sex hormones, vitamin deficiencies, inflammation levels, thyroid function, blood sugar levels, and metabolism. Once the lab work results are complete, our medical team analyzes the results and uses them to develop a customized weight loss program that best fits your needs.
Phase II: Remove
Now that you’ve identified your weight loss roadblocks, it’s time to start removing them. Your weight loss counseling sessions will begin with the detoxification of your body to create an internal environment that is more conducive to fat burning. Your counselor will also work with you to develop a high protein diet and meal plan that will suit your schedule and introduce you to any other tools selected for your program. The most important part of this process is that your counselor will be with you through every step to offer guidance, diet recipes, and weight loss tips.
Phase III: Accelerate
Once you’re set on the path to a healthier lifestyle, it’s time to perfect your processes to boost your energy and kick your fat loss into high gear. Your weight loss counselor will review both your successes and setbacks to determine which diets food, medical tools, and targeted nutrition support give you the best results.
Phase IV: Transition
Once you’ve lost an accelerated amount of weight, you’ll enter the transition phase during which you will continue to lose a few pounds a week while you shape and tone your body. Whereas your previous phase focused on fat loss, this phase shifts the focus to building muscle and shaping your trouble zones. Many patients also choose to begin body contouring treatments during this phase, if they haven’t already started, to tighten skin and smooth cellulite.
Phase V: Maintenance
You’ve achieved your weight loss goals! The first step of this phase is to meet with your weight loss counselor to take an “after” photo and solidify everything you’ve learned. This is when you can choose to continue with any of our services, or be reevaluated for more medical products if you’d still like to lose more weight. All of our patients who have reached their goals are welcome to continue with weight loss counseling sessions, targeted nutrition support, foods, and body contouring, but you will move into a more flexible schedule.
